As school leaders we face many of the same puzzling situations. So, what better way to explore solutions to those puzzles than with a group of practitioners AND with Dr. Joelle van Lent, Clinical Psychologist, and VPA Assistant Executive Director, Erica McLaughlin? When practitioners come together and bring with them pieces of the puzzle through collaboration, a beautiful outcome emerges. From October through May we will have this opportunity to realize better practices for our staff and students.
In each session participants will:
October: Lean into student discipline and self reflection practices
November: Explore the consequences of swiss cheese development and developing plans to move forward
January: Regroup at the start of the new year by activating Trauma sensitive practices
February: Discover ways to build staff resilience and manage effective communications with helicopter parents
March: Collaborate on what to do with misbehaviors when you have emptied your tool box and not sure what else to do
April: Unpack common mistakes schools regularly make with the best of intentions and what to do about it.
May: Explore ways to manage the end of the school year grind year and be resilient enough to plan fo the upcoming year.
We will learn together, support one another with live time challenges, share ideas, gain new perspectives and insights that will better support you in your everyday work. Each session will include time to focus on high interest topics that you are faced with that month.
